It stays private
The people we approach are never exposed. Their current employer does not find out that they spoke to us.
Executive search and headhunting
When an important job opens in your church, charity, school, hotel or venue, we go out and find the best people for it. We test them carefully, then bring you a short list you can trust.
What we do
The best leaders are usually busy doing good work somewhere else. They do not read job adverts, so an advert will not reach them. Someone has to go and find them, and give them a good reason to talk to you. That is our job.
We find out who is doing the job well today. We contact them in private and tell them about your role. Then we test them properly, so that by the time you meet anyone, they are worth your time.
A wrong hire costs more than money. A year can pass before you notice it, good staff may leave, and then you have to start again. A careful search is how you avoid that.
What is the difference between advertising a job and using us?
The people we approach are never exposed. Their current employer does not find out that they spoke to us.
Each person on your short list comes with our written opinion of them, including anything we are unsure about.
The same consultant runs your search from the first meeting to the new person's first day.
If the salary on offer will not attract the person you described, we tell you in week two, not week eight.
Who we work with
A headhunter is only as useful as the people they know. So instead of covering every industry, we stay close to three. In all of them, the right person has to share your values, not just have the right skills, and that is the part that is hardest to judge. Choose the one that sounds like you.

This covers churches and other religious bodies, charities, NGOs, social enterprises, and companies built around a social mission.
Someone can meet every point on the job description and still be wrong for your organisation. We ask about conduct and history, and if we have doubts, we tell you plainly.
They are serving elsewhere and they are loyal to it. We approach them quietly, we respect where they are, and we are honest with them about what the new role asks.
Pay in this field is often below the market. People move for the work itself, for the leader they will serve under, and for the trust to do the job well. We make the case on those grounds.
A church or charity is asking someone for years of their life, so we interview with that in mind.

This covers primary and secondary schools, colleges and higher institutions, training academies, exam and certification bodies, and company training teams.
A new head cannot start in the middle of a term. If someone resigns in March, the window is narrow. We plan backwards from the first day of the new session, not forwards from the day the job opened.
Certificates, references and safeguarding history all need to be confirmed. We do those checks before a name reaches you, so your board never has to withdraw an offer.
Pupils, parents and staff live with it until the session ends. That is why we would rather take three extra weeks than send you someone we are unsure about.
The person you appoint will shape a year of every child's education, and we screen candidates with that in mind.

This covers hotels and resorts, restaurants and food groups, event venues, live production, media, film and music.
Strong managers move by introduction. Someone offers them a role before they are ever free. If you wait for applications, you mostly see the people other businesses let go.
Change your General Manager or Head Chef and it shows in your reviews, your bookings and your staff turnover within one season.
Nights, weekends and busy seasons are part of the job. We ask about this directly, because someone who looks good on paper but tires by the third month will cost you more than the search did.
One senior appointment sets the standard for your whole team, so we treat it with the same care you do.
How it works
Every search follows the same six steps. What we look for changes from one organisation to the next, but the order of the work stays the same, and you can see where we are at every point.
We sit down with you and write down what the job is, what kind of person it needs, and the date your short list is due.
We list who is doing this job well today, and where. You see that list, not just the final result.
We contact people ourselves, in private. Your name is shared only when someone is serious and you agree.
An interview, a task taken from the real job, and references we collect ourselves.
Three or four people we would stand behind, each with our written opinion of them.
We handle the offer and the notice period, then stay in touch through the new person's first ninety days.
How long it takes
We count from the day we agree the brief. This is what you can expect along the way.
We meet the people who will make the decision. The job, the kind of person and the short list date are agreed in writing.
We map the market and start the private conversations. You see the long list and can steer us.
Interviews, tasks and reference checks. Your written short list arrives at the end.
You meet the finalists and make an offer. We stay with it until a start date is fixed.
Talk to us
Tell us a little about it here. The first conversation costs you nothing and stays private, and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people to help.
